Board-certified in general surgery, Kevin Tri Nguyen, MD, PhD, FACS, specializes in robotic and open surgical procedures to treat conditions that affect the gall bladder, bile ducts, pancreas and liver. As a fellowship-trained hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) surgeon, he is considered one of the world leaders in robotic Whipple procedures and liver resections and has 14 years of experience practicing surgery.
Dr. Nguyen earned his medical and doctorate degrees from Mount Sinai School of Medicine of New York University with a PhD in microbiology. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and his fellowship in hepato-pancreato-biliary (HPB) at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Nguyen is an assistant professor in the Department of General Surgery at Emory University's School of Medicine and serves on the general surgery team at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. Before joining Emory Healthcare, he served with the Piedmont Physicians Group at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital and was co-director of the Piedmont Pancreas Cancer Surgery Clinic. Prior to Piedmont, he practiced at the Department of Surgery, Division of HPB Surgery at the University of Michigan as assistant professor of surgery. He is a member of the American Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association. Dr. Nguyen enjoys spending time with his wife and two children in his spare time.
