About

Dr. Laura Jane Miller attended Emory University for college and medical school. In medical school she found her interest in therapy and trauma with the Grady Nia Project. She went on to complete her adult psychiatry residency training at the Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School teaching affiliate. This community-based program further instilled a passion for caring for the underserved and healing intergenerational trauma. She learned to use each interaction with a patient as a therapeutic opportunity. Dr. Miller then came back home to Atlanta to finish her child and adolescent psychiatry training at Emory.

Dr. Miller's special interests lie in the first years of life and how those impact the rest of development. She is a certified Parent Child Interaction therapist. She can also provide Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She completes additional training in 2019 in infant parent mental health at UMass Boston to deepen her understanding of how our first years powerfully inform development of later strengths and challenges. WIth the very young, she aims to support parents in the healthy social and emotional development of their babies and toddlers. She serves families with infants up to young adults.
