About

Lauren Orenstein (Or-en-steen) was born and grew up in Atlanta, GA.  She attended college at the University of Georgia, where she majored in Comparative Literature and Microbiology.  Dr. Orenstein attended Emory School of Medicine.  While studying at Emory, she spent 1 year in Mali, West Africa working on a clinical trial of maternal influenza vaccine and she also had the opportunity to participate in the Fellowship at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics.  She completed dermatology residency at the University of Pennsylvania, where she was selected as Chief Resident and completed a specialized residency track in Healthcare Leadership and Quality Improvement.  After graduating from residency, she joined faculty at Temple University in Philadelphia.  Now on faculty at Emory University, Dr. Orenstein sub-specializes in the medical and surgical management of hidradenitis suppurativa and sees patients at The Emory Clinic and Grady.
