Board certified in medical oncology and internal medicine, Manali Bhave, MD, specializes in breast oncology. She joined the Glenn Family Breast Center at Winship Cancer Institute in 2018. She is an associate professor in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine and serves as medical director of the Phase I Clinical Trials Unit at Winship Cancer Institute of Emory University. Prior to her appointment at Winship, she was a clinical instructor at Northwestern University in Chicago.
Dr. Bhave has a special interest in developing new strategies for the treatment of patients with breast cancer. She is an active member of the Breast Cancer Working Group and the Phase I Clinical Trials Unit and collaborates with other Winship members in clinical trials. Her goal is to provide compassionate, personalized and state-of-the-art care for her patients through the use of both standard of care therapies and clinical trials.
Dr. Bhave has presented her research in breast cancer at national meetings and has published her work in peer-reviewed journals. Her research focus is in the development of novel therapies including immunotherapy and multimodality strategies for the treatment of breast cancer. She also has an interest in fertility care during breast cancer therapy and improving the quality of life for her patients. She serves as the principal investigator for multiple therapeutic trials for patients with breast cancer and other advanced malignancies at Winship Cancer Institute.

- Dr. Bhave has received multiple teaching awards during her time at Northwestern University and at the University of Michigan. She also received the Mark Roth Award from the University of Michigan in 2017 for both clinical and research excellence.
Dr. Bhave was recently awarded a generous grant through the V Foundation to improve patient enrollment in breast cancer immunotherapy clinical trials.
