About Dr. Ghose
Dr. Ghose offers primary care to patients in Dunwoody. A board-certified provider in family medicine, she works with children, adolescents and adults at Emory Dunwoody Family Medicine.
Dr. Ghose delivers a full spectrum of preventive care, wellness and chronic disease management. She is particularly interested in supporting women’s health, offering education and guidance on contraception, helping individuals manage chronic conditions, such as diabetes and weight control.
A Philadelphia native, she stayed close to home during her medical school training and residency. Dr. Ghose graduated from medical school at Thomas Jefferson University in 2009. She then continued her training as a resident at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Ghose has been a practicing physician since 2012. She is married with three children and enjoys spending time on the Belt Line and local parks and playgrounds.
Personable Care Begins with Listening
In her everyday practice, she likes to create an open informal environment so she and her patients can get to know each other. This, she believes, begins with listening.
“I give patients time to introduce themselves and feel comfortable,” Dr. Ghose explains. “Everyone is so busy today. When they come to the doctor, they have a lot of questions and concerns they want to get through. Spending time focused on them, and really listening to what they are saying, can really empower someone. After all, they know themselves best and are the greatest stewards of their health.”
Coaching Patients to Wellness
The choices we make – in and out of the doctor’s office – can greatly impact our health. That’s why Dr. Ghose’s care philosophy extends far beyond the exam room. “I like to think of myself as a primary care physician and a life coach,” she says. “I want to motivate patients to make healthy changes, whether it’s weight management or healthy lifestyle.”
Everyone has different goals, challenges and needs. Dr. Ghose creates a comfortable, non-judgmental environment to encourage patients to share those personal thoughts.
Another key in building and maintaining a healthy lifestyle is a strong support network. “I try very hard to advocate for patients outside the clinic with other physicians, specialists, insurance companies,” Dr. Ghose says.
