Paul Ghareeb, MD, grew up in a small town in West Virginia. He graduated summa cum laude with a BS in Biology from West Virginia University and went on to complete medical school at West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Ghareeb was a Junior elect of the AOA and served as chapter president during his final year of medical school.
Upon completing medical school, Dr. Ghareeb completed a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency at Emory University. He served as the Administrative Chief Resident during his last year of training and received the prestigious HOPE award in recognition of his professionalism in patient care. He then completed a fellowship in Hand and Microvascular Surgery within the Department of Orthopedics at the University of California Los Angeles. At UCLA, he combined orthopedic and plastic surgical techniques in the care of patients with hand and upper extremity conditions. Dr. Ghareeb is board certified with an additional subspecialty certificate in Surgery of the Hand by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
Dr. Ghareeb currently sees patients at the Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Center clinic in Dunwoody as well as Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital. He also spends part of his time caring for veterans with hand disorders at the Atlanta VA Medical Center. His clinical interests include all aspects of hand and wrist surgery, including fracture care and traumatic injuries, nerve compression, Raynauds phenomenon and vascular disorders; Dupuytrens disease, tendonitis, rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Dr. Ghareeb performs microsurgical reconstructive nerve and vascular procedures including vascularized bone grafting, as well as complex reconstructive surgery of the skin and soft tissues
