Dr. Vasanth clearly is brilliant, knows her subject, and is gregarious. However, I felt like she was in such a hurry that she couldn't take the time to listen closely. [1example out of 3: in the visit, she told me to back off Veltassa to 2 times a week.(My wife and I both heard that and repeated it. She said "right.") However, the follow up letter she wrote to Lindsay Cox indicated "once a week.]

Great experience

The doctor did not have my records. No homework had been performed. My husband and I ended up telling her more information than she told us. She wanted me to get a dead donor's kidney, which is totally unacceptable because of my specific problems. She had not read The doctors notes from MUSC and was not prepared to see me. I was very disappointed. The whole day was a complete and total waste of time.

I didn't know what type of Doctor she was and she never stated that I can remember. I didn't understand how some of her questions related to my issue and some were the same questions which I had already answered on my previous visit. I wasn't sure if she was a Doctor or a social worker. I was already aware of the risks involved with the transplant and appreciate her going over them again. I don't think that she appreciated that I had been up since 4:30 that morning and had already visited with CT, radiology and had an EKG.

Dr. Vasanth was familiar and knowledgeable about my unique condition (elderly, Stage 5 CKD, non-dialysis) and offered an honest assessment of being listed for a transplant as well as the benefits of a living donor. My prior history at Piedmont was discussed. Recommendations for KDPI and Hepatitis B vaccination were explained. Very good visit.
