Santosh Patel, MD is an addiction psychiatrist at Emory Healthcare. He completed his training in general psychiatry at the Medical College of Georgia. During his final year of residency, he served as chief resident and was involved in the development of the department’s suboxone clinic. After residency, Dr. Patel completed his addiction psychiatry fellowship at Emory University. Alongside training in addiction psychiatry, Dr. Patel also has additional certification in the specialty of sports psychiatry through the International Society of Sports Psychiatry and has worked with a wide range of professional and amateur athletes.
Dr. Patel’s clinical interests focus on the development of evidenced based treatment programs, and he is currently involved in the development of an intensive outpatient addiction treatment program through a collaboration between Emory University and the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation.
