Sibo Tian, MD, is a radiation oncologist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Tian specializes in the treatment of patients with lung cancer and sarcoma. He treats patients at Winship Cancer Institute's Clifton campus, Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown and Emory Proton Therapy Center.
Dr. Tian received his medical degree from Rutgers – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, New Jersey. He also received a Masters of Clinical and Translational Science during medical school. He completed internship and residency in Radiation Oncology at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. During training, he was a recipient of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Conquer Foundation Merit Award at the 2018 annual meeting. Dr. Tian graduated from the University of Chicago with honors in Biological Science and Economics.
Dr. Tian is actively involved with multiple areas of clinical research. His research interests include exploring ways of to integrate radiation therapy and immunotherapy, proton therapy, and the use of big data to optimize the multi-disciplinary care of cancer patients. During his training he was principal investigator on a pilot study of functional imaging in the treatment of lung cancer. He is interested in developing clinical trials that investigate how technologic innovations and novel methods of radiation delivery can improve patient outcomes.
