The doctor did not listen to me, argued with me about what occurred during my prior care (I came from a provider which I left due to constant administrative mistakes, a doctor who explained nothing to me and had very little regard for me as a person), made bizarre, illogical excuses for my prior doctor's unusual recommendations (despite not making the same recommendations herself), showed incredibly rude and unprofessional behavior, made rude comments, told me that nutrition and lifestyle didn't matter because she was only there to make what time I have left as comfortable as possible despite only having showed hard symptoms of tumor flare over the last 2 weeks. She even tried to talk me out of coming to Winship Emory for care. I came into this visit with an open mind and trust, I was very polite and honest through the entire visit. I tried to explain that my previous provider was not giving me adequate care, and this seemed to trigger her as from that point forward she acted in the ways described above.

Excellence describes my provider encounter. I would no doubt recommend this provider. Compassion, concern and direction of care well explained.

Dr. Pakkala presents my progress with the treatment plan, and recommends the next step, at each visit. She clearly explains the time line, and which procedure, will be next.

Dr. Pakkala and the nurse assistants, gave me their usual top notch and kind care. They should make a training video, on how to care for patients!

Dr Pakala is very impressive overall. I wish she would provide more specific feedback to me on how my cancer is progressing and what the criteria for "being in remission" is. I will specifically ask her next visit.

All my experiences with Dr.Pakkula today were outstanding! I've never had a Dr that demonstrated so much care and concern for my treatment plan and health habits. Her initial exam was thorough, and she explained each phase of my treatment plan. I am so grateful for Dr. Pakkula's expertise and care on this initial visit!

Excellent experience

I was very impressed by the doctor. My visit was for a second opinion. Not only did she listen to me, she thoroughly explained her thoughts on the available treatment options along with their risks and benefits. She took my concerns about side effects seriously and offered advice on managing them. Although, my treatment plan did not change, I have a much clearer understanding of my risk profile and why it's needed, so much so that I will be moving my care to Emory despite a much longer drive.

Dr, Pakkala was very patient with my questions, slowly and carefully explained my condition in plain language, the available treatments, survival rates, associated conditions, and the drugs to be used in my treatment. She seemed to be well up on the latest research, and arranged for me to get economic help with my anti-cancer drugs.
