Board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine, Vinita Singh, MD, MSCR, FASRA, specializes in treating chronic pain conditions, including peripheral neuropathy-related pain, low back and neck pain, sciatica, sacroiliac joint pain, and knee and shoulder pain. She has subspecialty expertise in managing cancer pain and collaborates with oncologists to provide state-of-the-art therapies for patients with cancer-related pain symptoms.
Dr. Singh is an associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology at Emory University School of Medicine, where she holds several leadership roles, including division chief of pain medicine, co-director of research for the pain division and director of cancer pain. She joined Emory in 2014 and focused early in her career on building a cancer pain service.
Dr. Singh earned her medical degree from the Armed Forces Medical College in India. She completed her anesthesia residency at Indiana University and a fellowship in pain medicine at Emory University School of Medicine. As a KL2 scholar in the NIH-funded Georgia Clinical and Translational Science Alliance, she earned a Master of Science in Clinical Research and led a clinical trial on the use of intranasal ketamine for cancer pain.
Dr. Singh has a national reputation in pain management and has authored more than 25 publications, including 10 original research articles. She has delivered dozens of invited talks and hands-on workshops.

Dr. Singh is a fellow of the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine. She has received multiple research awards, including the Robert C. Coddington Award for best research presentation during her transitional year internship, the Harold Jerry Levy Award for excellence in research from Emory’s Department of Anesthesiology and the Lisa Stearns Award from the North American Neuromodulation Society for clinical and scientific work in cancer pain interventional therapies and neuromodulation. She received the inaugural Emory Anesthesiology Faculty Diversity Grant in 2019 and has also been featured in Emory University School of Medicine's Researcher Appreciation Day Recognition and Doctor's Day Recognition.
