Dr. Sueblinvong completed undergraduate and medical school education at the Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand and obtaining her MD in 1998. She trained in Internal Medicine at the St. Joseph hospital, Chicago, IL from 2000-2003 and then moved to the University of Vermont for clinical and research fellowship training in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine from 2003-2008 under the leadership of Dr. Polly Parsons and in the laboratory of Dr. Daniel J. Weiss. She was recruited to Emory University in 2008 when it was under the leadership of Dr. Jesse Roman as Assistant Professor and Associated Program Director for Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Program at Emory University under Dr. Lindy Wolfenden leadership.
Dr. Sueblinvong’s research career has focused on the lung fibroblast biology and the mechanisms by which intrinsic (i.e. aging) and extrinsic (i.e. alcohol) factors influence the lung fibroblast biology and phenotype. Currently, Dr. Sueblinvong is funded with Career Development Award (K08) from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to further her study on the mechanisms on how alcohol-induced oxidative stress predisposes the lung to disrepair.
Dr. Sueblinvong’s clinical interests include the care of critically ill patients and care for adults with Cystic Fibrosis. She is an Associate Program Director for Adult CF program at Emory University which is now under Dr. Seth Walker’s leadership.
