Vita Kesner, MD, joined Emory University Neurology Department as Assistant Professor after she completed her Neurology Residency at Case Western Reserve University and then Clinical Neurophysiology-Neuromuscular fellowship at Emory.
With specific interests in the fields of myasthenia gravis and peripheral nerve disorders, she established a specialized clinic for patients with myasthenia gravis and a combined neurosurgery and neurology multidisciplinary Peripheral Nerve clinic. The Peripheral Nerve Clinic provides expertise in most nerve disorders, including peripheral nerve or brachial, lumbosacral plexus injuries, nerve sheath tumors, neurofibromatosis and compressive neuropathies as well as pain syndromes. The Peripheral Nerve Clinic combines advanced surgical and therapeutic approaches, with the latest diagnostic imaging and physiology. The Myasthenia Gravis Clinic provides expert and dedicated care to patients with this challenging disorder.
Dr. Kesner as the director of the Electromyography (EMG) Laboratory is committed to providing high quality and comprehensive electro-diagnostic evaluations for patients with neuromuscular disorders. Dr. Kesner also performs complex neurophysiological testing during surgical procedures including electroencephalography (EEG), evoked potentials, and EMG.
