Caring support for adults with mental health conditions

If you’re experiencing severe problems related to a mental health condition, you may need the extra support we provide in the hospital. At Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods, we provide compassionate in-patient care for adults with mental and behavioral health conditions.

During your stay, we’ll work with you and your family to create a treatment plan based on your specific needs. Your treatment plan may include:

  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Medical evaluation
  • Nursing assessment and care
  • Psychotherapy
  • Group therapy
  • Addiction counseling
  • Medication management
  • Discharge planning
  • Family education

A team approach to psychiatric care

Caring for you means caring for the whole person — body, mind and spirit. That’s why we select team members with different expertise, experience and training. Your care team will support you and your family throughout your treatment and may include:

  • Board-certified psychiatrists
  • Psychiatric nurses
  • Licensed clinical social workers
  • Licensed therapists
  • Certified addiction counselors
  • Recreational therapists
  • Chaplains
  • Mental health associates

Request Inpatient Care

If you believe you or a loved one may need inpatient care, please call 404-728-6222. Our licensed behavioral health evaluators are available to help you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Since inpatient care has specific insurance guidelines, our evaluators will ask for your insurance details and about your signs and symptoms to see if you qualify. Examples of signs and symptoms that indicate a need for inpatient care may include, but aren’t limited to:

  • Depressed or manic moo
  • Psychosis
  • Hallucinations
  • Delusions
  • Paranoid/suspicious behaviors
  • Not taking medicines appropriately
  • Suicidal or homicidal thoughts
  • Anxiety

If you don’t meet insurance guidelines for inpatient care, we’ll help you find support in one of our outpatient programs.
