Adult Outpatient Psychiatry Frequently Asked Questions
  • Insurance policies vary greatly in what mental health services will be covered and what co-payments are required under your insurance plan. Once your appointment has been scheduled, our administrative support staff will offer assistance in determining your insurance coverage. We also encourage you to call your insurance company prior to your scheduled appointment to determine coverage and co-payments.
  • Our Intake and Referral staff provides no-cost, confidential mental health screenings Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. All mental health admissions are based on clinical necessity. Upon completion of the initial mental health screening, our staff will recommend an appropriate level of care to meet the needs of the patient.

    Contact us to schedule a free telephone screening or for more information on our programs and services. If you are currently experiencing an emergency, please dial 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. We accept referrals from physicians and therapists as well as self-referrals.

  • To request a medication refill prescribed by your Adult Psychiatrist, please call 404-778-5526, and follow the prompts for a Medication Refill.  Call center agents are available Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm and will send your request to the Adult Psychiatry clinical staff.
     
  • You can message your doctor using our online portal, MyChart. Create an account online. If you already have an account, log in and choose the messages option. View MyChart Frequently Asked Questions for more info.
  • Yes. Sign up for a MyChart account or if you already have an account, you should see your physician on your MyChart Home Screen in the Your Care Team and Recent Providers section. Get more details at www.emoryhealthcare.org/epic
  • To request medical records, please call 404-778-5526, and follow the prompts for Medical Records Release. Call center agents are available Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm and will be waiting to assist you.
