Comprehensive Breast Center

Welcome to The Comprehensive Breast Center at Emory Decatur Hospital

The Comprehensive Breast Center at Emory Decatur Hospital focuses on early detection and treatment. The professionals at the Diagnostic Breast Center combine experience, expertise, and compassion with a dedication to each woman's physical and emotional well-being. Accredited by the American College of Radiology and the Food and Drug Administration, our program was designed by women for women to encourage candor and understanding about the issues related to breast disease. Our technologists are highly trained in breast cancer testing and have earned special certification in mammography.

The Diagnostic Breast Center offers the following breast cancer screening options:

  • Breast cancer screening mammograms for women with no lumps, symptoms, or breast problems. 2D and 3D mammography technology. 3D mammography may be helpful for women with dense breast tissue.

  • Diagnostic mammograms – breast cancer testing for women who have a breast abnormality or other symptom detected in an initial exam.

  • Breast ultrasound – a quick, painless procedure that uses sound waves to help characterize breast abnormalities.

  • Stereotactic biopsy – a non-surgical technique of breast cancer testing that removes small breast tissue samples. Extended hours - Monday through Friday from 7 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • MRI – the most advanced imaging available for women with a history of breast disease, a family history of breast disease, or dense breasts that make detection more difficult.
