He acted like he didn't know much about my problem.I have been diagnosed with gastroparesis by four drs. They just wanted to see if he could help in any way. They said she had one of the worst cases ever. This Dr didn't help at all.Came back home and two days later I was in the hospital.Im still in hospital with the issues.

Dr Abubaker shows great care and asks follow-up questions. Doesn't just give an answer without thinking about it deeply - then suggests options.

I already refer everyone looking for a GI doctor to Dr. Abubaker. He is so busy it takes months before someone could get it to see him. I love him he's so caring and personable.

This physician honestly, did not even examine me. I came in with a 6 week watery diarrhea and I mentioned travel. He did NOT order a stool ova and parasite and did not think giardia (I am a neurologist and he had ordered a stool test and I thought this included ova and parasites but it didn't).

Dr. I. Abubakar talked more than he listened. I had to ask if I could speak. He misspoke concerning my medical history and diagnoses and then mentioned that he was looking at someone else's record. He mentioned that he has been doing this for 3 (or 30) years and had been patient with me. He appeared disturbed because I expressed concerns regarding my research on the side effects of a medication he prescribed in 2024. I explained that I did not take the medication because it can cause rapid heart rates among other cardiac concerns, and I am presently on medication to slow my heart rate. Dr. Abubakar stated on two occasions that he could refer me to someone else. I expressed my disappointment in him saying that in response to me expressing my concerns. It is as if I cannot ask questions or converse with him regarding my care without risk of reprisal or offending him. I felt as if I should simply listen, ask no questions, and do no research if I want his care. This is not the quality of care that I have experienced previously and have grown to expect from Emory. Thank you for the opportunity to express this. Perhaps some training in customer care, listening, and humility will help Dr. Abubakar.
