Jennie and I are on the same page, told her I loved her, lol!

It was all fine. I didn't leave with a good nor bad impression. Just neutral. I am a minimalist patient and she still wanted to check my BP for two weeks even though I told her two other Drs had seen it and weren't concerned about it. I didn't feel like she gave much credit to the history/knowledge I already had about my BP. I do understand her wanting a fresh assessment as some of my records were 6 years old. She just didn't present it that way. She presented it as if their assessment may not have been adequate. I didn't like that. While I will monitor as she asked and will upload it, I don't think the level of chemistry was quite right to trust her for my particular care. Trusting my physician is a big deal to me and it just wasn't a great first impression. BUT! Again - I don't think she did anything wrong. Just isn't my style of physician.

Jennie Mathen is an excellent nurse practitioner. Listens to my concerns, cares, doesn't rush you. She has been my NP for about a decade. I only trust her to manage my healthcare therefore, I just followed her over to Emory from Hope Clinic.

Definitely a warm feeling from Ms Mathen, she showed care, concern, listened, explained things very well, spent not than 5 minutes with me. I've seen many doctors(Wellstar) in the past 5 months and she was the ONLY one who actually talked through my symptoms, spent longer than 15 minutes while the others never spent 5 minutes explaining anything. She was so thorough I wasn't sure if I could use her as my primary so I reached out and she said yes. I'm willing to drive 40 minutes based on the care, concern and quality she demonstrated.

Jennie far exceeded my expectations for quality and compassion in care. When I arrived, I was managing several competing emotions and stressors-the recent loss of a college friend, my son's upcoming fifth birthday, uncertainty about my true health status versus my optimistic assumptions, and the growing strain of professional and personal responsibilities visibly affecting my well-being. I recognized that I needed professional intervention and honest guidance.Encouraged by the support and empathy of my CNA, I found the courage to be fully transparent with Jennie about my concerns. From the beginning, it was evident that Jennie and her team were not only highly competent but also deeply committed to my overall wellness. They focused on delivering precise, comprehensive care while helping me dismantle preconceived notions about seeking medical help. The impact of Jennie's care is undeniable-even as I write this reflection in the early hours of the morning, I'm reminded of her insight into the importance of sleep health. My gratitude stems not only from her clinical expertise but from her ability to foster trust, accountability, and a renewed commitment to my own health journey.
