Maya Desai, MD

Originally from southeast Michigan, Dr. Maya Desai earned her bachelor's of science at the University of Michigan. She then went on to complete her M.D. at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. She stayed on for an additional four years to complete her ophthalmology training at Beaumont in Royal Oak, Michigan, where she served as chief resident during her final year of residency. Following residency, she decided to pursue a fellowship in Cornea and External Disease, that she is currently completing at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, where she is training to treat a wide variety of complex corneal pathology and expanding her surgical skills in managing corneal diseases and cataract surgery. She has a special interest in global health and hopes to incorporate this into her future career. When not in the clinic, she enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and exploring all the restaurants Atlanta has to offer.
