Melika Deaton, MD

Melika Zarei Deaton, MD is a plastic surgeon at Emory University specializing in reconstructive and aesthetic surgery. Originally from Virginia, she earned her undergraduate degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia before completing her medical degree at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine.
Dr. Deaton completed her integrated plastic surgery residency at Emory University, where she trained in the full spectrum of reconstructive and aesthetic plastic surgery. She joined the Emory faculty to continue caring for patients across the Atlanta community and to help educate the next generation of plastic surgeons.
Her clinical interests include facial reconstruction, breast reconstruction, aesthetic surgery of the face and breast, and body contouring. She believes that the principles of reconstructive surgery, including precision, thoughtful planning, and meticulous technique, are the foundation of exceptional aesthetic outcomes. She is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care while helping patients achieve results that look and feel natural.
Outside of work, Dr. Deaton enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, and practicing yoga. She considers it a privilege to care for patients during some of life's most meaningful moments and strives to make every patient feel heard, supported, and confident throughout their surgical journey
