Rick Vavolizza, MD is a board-certified & fellowship-trained Breast Surgical Oncologist who specializes in treating patients with breast cancer and breast abnormalities. As a Breast Surgeon, he treats patients at Emory University Hospital and Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital.
Dr. Vavolizza completed his undergraduate degree in nutritional biochemistry at UNC Chapel Hill where he graduated summa cum laude. He received his medical degree from UVA School of Medicine and then also completed his Surgery residency at UVA where he received the Exemplary Physician Award, the ACS Commission on Cancer Award, and was chosen for the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society. Dr. Vavolizza then completed his Breast Surgical Oncology fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Vavolizza is dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer care and remains steadfast in his mission to end cancer. He strongly believes in designing individualized treatment plans that meet each patient’s unique needs. His compassion for patients is evident in every interaction, as he prioritizes not only curing breast cancer, but also preserving each patient’s dignity and cosmetic outcomes.
