Dr. Kedar is a Professor of Ophthalmology and Neurology at the Emory University School of Medicine and also serves as the Vice Chair for Education in the department of Ophthalmology. He graduated from India’s premier medical school, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi followed by residency training in ophthalmology and neurology, and fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology and clinical neurophysiology. He is a fellow of the North American Neuro-ophthalmology Society (NANOS), the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and American Neurological Association (ANA). He has significant expertise in medical education and administration, having served as the neurology residency program director for 10 years and ophthalmology core faculty for 5 years. He is the current chair of the NANOS curriculum committee. He has received numerous teaching awards including the NANOS Merit Award, AAO achievement award and the AAN excellence in teaching certificate. He has more than 80 journal publications, book chapters and online educational materials. He developed the standard curriculum in neuro-ophthalmology, and serves as the editor in chief of NANOS Illustrated Curriculum. His research interests include development of novel teaching methods including use of simulation methods, ophthalmic biomarkers of neurological diseases, clinical trials in neuro-ophthalmology and the impact of visual impairment on cognition. His clinical practice includes the entire gamut of visual disorders resulting from neurological diseases.
