About

Sejal Tamakuwala, DO, is an obstetric and gynecological physician at Emory Women’s Center at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. She completed her medical education at New York Institute of Technology, followed up with her residency program at Detroit Medical Center.
Dr. Tamakuwala enjoys seeing patients throughout most of their adolescent and adult lives, beginning with the start of menstruation to contraception counseling, pregnancy and delivery, and menopause and beyond. I also specialize in providing OB/GYN care for those who have a history of anxiety or sexual trauma. She realizes the importance about reproductive health and although can be uncomfortable, encourages her patients to communicate any needs/issues/concerns they may have and ensures appointments will be comfortable and stress-free. Whether performing gynecologic surgeries such as hysterectomies and complicated deliveries to your annual well-woman exam, Dr. Tamakuwala genuinely enjoys the full spectrum of both obstetrics and gynecology.

I asked for some testing and she stated I need my primary doctor to test me and also I needed to ask my Endocrinologist to test for me for hormones when I was told by my Doctor Endocrinologist to come see her for the test on my hormone and menopause's testing.

I didn't appreciate the lack of follow up when my results returned. I had to reach out in order to get meds and explanation of my results.

First time with this physician, and she was so thorough. She listened and gave me good tips to follow. She was great.

Dr. Tamakuwala was a very good listener. She explained her recommendations and made sure I felt comfortable. She took her time and it was not rushed. I was definitely at ease with how she made sure she understood my concerns.

Great experience

It was a good experience. I don't think I can refer someone after one visit but I will be able to make a determination after a couple more visits.

Dr. Tamakuwala is an answer to my prayers. She is a tremendous doctor who has always made me feel seen, heard, and cared for holistically. She is patient, attentive, compassionate, thorough, and extremely knowledgeable and talented at her profession. I am so grateful to have an OBGYN like her who compassionately navigates me through my OBGYN concerns and provides solutions that give me a better quality of life.

Dr Tamakuwala listens to my concerns and addresses them. I would recommend her to my friends and family.

The care recieved was good. However What was EXTREMELY concerning was the fact that an entire surgery was on my medical record without explanation as to how it got there. This is not helping build trust. In a time when the maternal mortality of black women is such a problem, the fact that an entire c section was somehow mysteriously on my medical chart is deeply concerning to me and feels negligent.
