About

Dr. Nicholson is a professor of medicine at Emory University School of Medicine and Director of Interventional Cardiology at Emory Healthcare.  Dr. Nicholson also serves as the program director for the advanced Complex High-Risk Interventional Procedures (CHIP) fellowship at Emory Healthcare.
Dr. Nicholson returned to Emory in 2020.  He is a graduate of Franklin and Marshall College where he majored in Biology and Fine Arts.  He completed his medical school education at the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine.  He went on to complete his residency in internal medicine and served as the chief medical resident at Brown University.  Dr. Nicholson did his general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Emory University.
In 2006, Dr. Nicholson joined his father, who is also an Emory-trained cardiology alumnus, to practice interventional cardiology.  During his 15 years in practice, he developed a nationally recognized complex interventional program in York, Pennsylvania.  He founded and developed the institution’s carotid stenting program, structural heart program, transcatheter aortic valve replacement program, and the complex coronary intervention program.
While proficient in the spectrum of interventional cardiology procedures, Dr. Nicholson is nationally and internationally recognized for his expertise in the treatment of Chronic Total Occlusions (CTO’s).   He has been a regional or national host for over 120 training courses, personally educating more than 500 practicing interventional cardiologists in complex procedures.  He has extensive publications in the field of complex coronary intervention and is a perennial live invited operator for national conferences such as Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) and CTO Summit.

Very nice provider however I wasn't happy with the results. I was hoping for additional testing, a referral to a different specialist, or something else to figure out these ongoing symptoms that I have been seen for and how to resolve them.

I was really impressed with his attention, concern and confidence in his being able to fix my problem. And never once acted condescending or disrespectful of the work of the previous surgeon At Lakeland Memorial Hospital. He is the type of doctor that everyone hopes to get.
