Dr. Alikhani is a board certified Cardiologist with extensive subspecialized training in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP). He graduated from Tehran University of Medical Sciences where he ranked highest in his class. Then, he moved to Boston for a postdoctoral fellowship in Molecular Biology at Boston University. His research in the field led to many publications in very prestigious scientific journals. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine internship and residency at St. Luke’s – Roosevelt Hospital Center, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City. He moved back to Boston for his cardiovascular fellowship at Tufts University - St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center. He further completed a cardiac electrophysiology (EP) fellowship at Harvard University - Brigham and Women’s Hospital. His research in the field of cardiology and arrhythmias has led to many presentations at different conferences including the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS).
Dr. Alikhani holds board certifications in Cardiovascular Medicine, Cardiac Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiac Electrophysiology.
His clinical interests include the management of syncope, the prevention of sudden cardiac death, the medical and catheter-based management of cardiac arrhythmias (including ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardias), the implantation of cardiac pacemakers and defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapies.
