Welcome To The Comprehensive Breast Center at Emory Hillandale Hospital. Everything about the Breast Center at Emory Hillandale Hospital has been designed to create a comfortable experience during an annual mammogram. The Breast Center's state-of-the-art Siemens MAMMOMAT digital breast tomosynthesis mammography equipment, for example, offers calming, mood altering color and soothing music to make a woman's mammogram a peaceful experience. Plus, the heightened accuracy of digital mammography, versus film, means women have to schedule fewer call-back appointments to obtain additional images.
Nurse Navigators: Gentle Guidance, Strong Support
The warmth, caring and concern of the Breast Center's staff is exemplified in the on-site Nurse Navigator. From every step of the process, beginning with an abnormal mammogram, through diagnosis, treatment and recovery, Nurse Navigators are on hand to gently guide and support. The Nurse Navigator works directly with the referring physician.
Comprehensive Service, One Location
If a screening mammogram shows something unusual, the Breast Center has the staff and technology to take a closer look. Diagnostic mammograms are available as are Mammatome® biopsies five days a week. Also, the Breast Center has its own exclusive radiology reading room, so results are back faster, allowing any necessary treatments to begin sooner.
Comfort and Style During Treatment
Women will always want to look their best, and that’s why the Breast Center's patient robes have been selected to not only be comfortable, but stylish.
In most cases, women get their mammogram and continue on doing so each year. However, should the need arise, Emory Hillandale Hospital offers individualized treatment plans led by a team of physicians who are experts in cancer care. In addition, an array of support services ranging from family support groups to the Look Good…Feel Better programs are available at no charge to patients receiving care at Emory Hillandale Hospital. Nurse Navigators meet with any woman who is diagnosed through the Breast Center to assist her with accessing corresponding medical care and support through Emory Hillandale Hospital’s cancer program.
