Primary Patient Contact

Upon arrival, our team will request a primary patient contact—a designated person to contact with patient updates. If other friends or family members request information about this patient, they will be referred to the primary patient contact.

  • If the patient is admitted to a nursing unit, a password will be required before the Emory Saint Josephs Hospital team member can share information.
  • For a patient's safety and privacy, we provide a Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) password to the primary patient contact.
  • When calling for updates, the primary patient contact will be asked for the password.

Patient Belongings – If you have valuables such as jewelry, cash, or electronics, please give them to a family member or friend to take care of during your stay. If you need assistance securing your items, please call Security at 678-843-7568.
