Emory Johns Creek Hospital check donation
(L-R) Heather Redrick, Emory Johns Creek Hospital COO and CNO and Shellee Bradtmiller, director of patient care services for women's and infant services at Emory Johns Creek Hospital, accept a gift from Charlie Durden with Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation to purchase newborn medical simulation training mannequins.
JOHNS CREEK, GA – The Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation, the community arm of local electric cooperative Sawnee EMC, has presented Emory Johns Creek Hospital with a gift totaling $10,850 to assist the hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and mother/baby unit with critical education and training needs.

The gift will allow for the purchase of newborn medical simulation mannequins that will be used in community parenting classes for parents expecting new babies. NICU nurses will also use the newborn mannequins for required staff training and hands-on learning experiences.

“We are incredibly grateful to Sawnee EMC’s foundation for this meaningful gift, which will enhance the way we support both our families and our nursing team in the NICU,” says Shellee Bradtmiller, RN, MSN, director of patient care services for women’s and infant services at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. “These resources provide valuable hands-on learning opportunities using advanced simulation, helping families feel more prepared to care for their newborns—especially in emergency situations. They also strengthen our team’s ability to maintain excellence in newborn care through continued education and skills advancement.”

“Thank you to the Sawnee Electric Membership Foundation for this generous contribution to our hospital and women’s services team,” says Heather Redrick, RN, COO and CNO at Emory Johns Creek Hospital. “Having support from community businesses like Sawnee EMC means so much to our employees and to those who count on our hospital for their health care needs.”
