Did not have a good experience with Kaka, Azeem S, MD. I don't typically complete surveys but I am for this reason. Kaka did not introduce the other medical professional that came in to also work or on me. Did not say his name or what he was doing. I asked about expediting results from biopsy if possible and he started saying "you're not speci-" about to say "you're not special"and stopped himself and changed it to something else but his intentions were clear and my mother had the same interpretation. He had very little care or concern for me downplaying the fact that I likely have lymphoma making it not seem like a big deal because he see's much worse. He was talking about lymphoma being epigenetic and (in my opinion) implying it was my fault that I got lymphoma saying it was lifestyle (harping on that part although I live a very healthy life) ,stress, and environment that causes it. I said something along the line of "Well I have an autoimmune disease I've read it makes you more susceptible" and he responded "oh you do? Yes that can be a big factor too. What do you have?". He clearly did not read my chart and was talking in a manor that I have never experienced from any other medical professional. I was concerned with the things he was saying as well as his demeanor and energy he gave from the second he came in. A very poor experience with him and would never recommend him to anyone else. I haven't experienced anything like this at Emory so it was a shock to say the least.
Dr Kaka was great! Great personality and top notch surgeon!
Dr. Kaka showed concern and answered all of my questions. He gave me options regarding how to proceed
Dr Kaka seen that I was very distressed and what I can say is he not only took a step back and took me thru the entire procedure prior to starting but he also made sure I was in a better state of mind before beginning and that is a GREAT doctor
Surgeon, Dr KaKa, while running late, took the time to explain the procedure, and answer all our questions
The absolute best group that I have ever been associated with
Very good Dr. I will be recommending him.
Dr. Kaka is the best. I don't think I've had a doctor like him.
I FINALLY felt am in good hands
Dr. Azeem's team is amazing. They answered all of our questions and showed concern in helping us understand the disease and the treatment plan.
It was a wonderful appointment. He took care of my problem that day. He was confident which made me feel assured and not so nervous. He was caring and I appreciated that so much. Everyone that participated in my appointment was wonderful. I am so grateful.
Great Dr and nurses assistant.
Dr. KaKa is a very good Dr. So very glad he was my Dr.
Dr. Kaka always takes the necessary time, care and concern with me. I feel well looked after.
Dr Kaka answered my questions I feel that I am being taking care of.
I am thankful for all the people did for me
My concerns were not properly addressed. The doctor seemed more interested in expressing his disdain for medication than in helping.
Very informative and helpful
I felt like he was chastising me for choosing him via MyChart because "he is a cancer doctor and he doesn't treat benign issues". Even when he attempted to help, I felt dismissed and talked down to, especially when he commented that my upcoming surgery with another provider was "big" (like I didn't understand that or I didn't need that) and when I declined gabapentin for side effect reasons. Then when I said I can't tolerate steroids he looked over at his resident as if to roll his eyes because I was being difficult. Even if I did ever get cancer, I would never choose him as my provider. It all felt as though I was wasting his time.
Dr Kaka is highly compassionate. His decisions regarding my treatment are always patient-centric. Just seeing him and knowing he would listen to me brought me to the tears of relief. He provided care options and considered my input in next steps. I would highly recommend him, his team, and the entire Winship community. Having cancer is scary, confusing, and painful. Winship addresses all of these aspects of my disease. I know I'm being treated by people who care about me as an individual.
4 hour visit. Dr late. Left room to find info. I waited over an hr for him to get back to me. He seemed very, very stressed. Wasted appt time.
I wish you had a higher level for this one because it was 100 %fantastic
Dr. Kaka is an outstanding individual. Very personable and does not rush through your appointment with you. Wish all doctors were like him.
Dr. Kaka was fantastic. I felt he answered all of my questions, he asked probing questions to try and figure out why I am having these symptoms. Examined my mouth and neck, glands, all what I felt was needed. He has a great bedside manner and I felt comfortable talking and asking questions. He gave great insight and next steps that we both agreed were necessary. I'm working on my exercises and have the MRI scheduled. I would highly recommend him to anyone that needs an ENT specialist.
Dr. Kaka explained much more about the body than just about my situation. This was exceptional and greatefully appreciated!!
Dr. Kaka graciously accommodated me and has superb bedside manner. I felt completely at ease during the procedure.
