Sandra Hobson, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon whose clinical interests include spine tumor, spine trauma, and degenerative spine conditions.
A native of Virginia, she completed her undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering at Virginia Tech and then her medical degree at the University of Virginia, where she was elected by her peers to AOA and the Gold Humanism Honors Society. She completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery at Emory in 2019 and her spine surgery fellowship with a clinical emphasis on spine tumor at the Mayo Clinic in 2020. She has been a member of the Emory family since 2020, primarily practicing at Grady and the Atlanta VA. She is delighted to expand her practice at the Emory Musculoskeletal Center.
She remains passionate about teaching the next generation of surgeons, and she currently serves as an Associate Program Director for the orthopaedic residency program. She also has a strong interest in global health, having served in several low- and middle-income countries as well as having interned at the World Health Organization in Geneva promoting access to essential surgical care.
