Stephanie Melissa Jones, MD

Stephanie M. Jones, MD, is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in foot & ankle surgery. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica, but considers herself an Atlanta native. She graduated from St. Pius X Catholic High School and earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University. She developed her initial interest in musculoskeletal health as a student athletic trainer with the Duke Football Program. After college, Dr. Jones returned to Atlanta to pursue her medical education, earning her Doctor of Medicine degree from Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Jones subsequently completed her residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UT Health San Antonio) before returning to Atlanta to complete a fellowship in Foot & Ankle Surgery at Emory University.  Dr. Jones’ clinical interests include treating a wide range of foot and ankle conditions, including bunion deformity, tendon dysfunction, arthritic conditions, traumatic injuries, sports injuries and total ankle replacement. She is passionate about patient education and shared decision-making, with an emphasis on building trust and transparency in the physician-patient relationship. Outside of work, Dr. Jones enjoys spending quality time with her husband, who is also a surgeon, and their mischievous rescue dog (“Lina”). She also finds balance through travel, painting, yoga, riding her bike and recreational pickleball. Dr. Jones joins Emory Healthcare as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, and she is excited at the opportunity to deliver excellent and equitable orthopaedic care to Atlanta and the surrounding communities.
