Plastic surgery no longer means heavily wrapped faces and weeks of recovery while you hide away in your home. Today, you can choose from a wide range of procedures to help you get the results you want—and get back to the life and activities you love quickly. If you are looking to refresh your appearance, Emory Aesthetic Center has low-downtime, high-impact plastic surgery options to help you look your best.
Facial Peels
Performed in a spa setting so you can relax and enjoy the experience, mild facial peels offer an opportunity to refresh and brighten your skin with very little redness or discomfort.
Medium or deeper peels can target scarring, lighten dark spots, and even tighten skin. But these peels can make your skin a little red, so be sure to talk to your doctor about your activity calendar.
In-Office Procedures
In-office procedures, such as Botox© and facial fillers, are a great way to get a more youthful appearance. These procedures may cause some bruising and swelling, so it’s best to be prepared to cover up a small bruise rather than be taken by surprise.
Botox©
Botox© can smooth out those pesky lines around the eyes and between the brows. It takes at least a week to start to see results, but with a little planning, you can be bright-eyed within a few days.
Botox© is FDA-approved for treatment in the forehead, between the eyes, and around the crow’s feet. It can also be used to elevate the corners of a saggy mouth, treat lines around the lips, and even smooth a dimply chin.
Facial Fillers
Facial fillers are usually made of hyaluronic acid, a compound that’s found in our cells. They are incredibly versatile and can deliver great results with low downtime.
Facial fillers can be used to add volume to the cheeks, soften lines around the mouth, bring a little more attention to the upper and lower lips, or improve hollowing under the eyes. With a skilled and talented surgeon, fillers can have a significant impact on your appearance—sometimes even before you leave the office.
Eyelid Lift
The skin at the upper lids can hang and become loose over time, making your eyes look more tired than you feel. An upper eyelid lift can have a phenomenal impact
Before an eyelid lift, you’ll get a local anesthetic to numb the eyelid area. Then, the excess skin is removed. The procedure itself takes about an hour and delivers immediate results. This procedure does require about one week of downtime though—and you will have stitches—so it’s best to plan accordingly.
