Joseph McCanne is a two-time lung transplant recipient. A diagnosis of cystic fibrosis at three years old began a life-long journey that would include two lung transplant surgeries. Each transplant giving him a new opportunity to enjoy life at its fullest – this is Joseph’s story.

Emory’s highly regarded team of physicians is at the forefront of lung transplant research. They are currently investigating immune tolerance as well as end-stage pulmonary vascular disease and experimental methods for effective gene therapy.
