About Dr. Grubb

Dr. Grubb joins Emory from the University of Louisville in Kentucky where she has worked since 2013 and served as the Director of Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, Surgical Director of the Heart Valve Program, and Associate Program Director of the Thoracic Surgery Fellowship. Dr. Grubb earned her Medical Degree and Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Southern California. She completed her General Surgery residency training at the University of Illinois at Chicago and fellowship training at the University of Virginia.

In addition, she pursued training in Interventional Cardiology at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University – making her the first woman in the U.S. doubly trained in Cardiovascular Surgery and Interventional Cardiology.

An active teacher and researcher, Dr. Grubb has participated in several clinical trials and investigations. She has presented her work at dozens of regional, national, and international conferences and symposia, including Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) and the annual meetings of the American College of Cardiology and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS). She has received many scholarships and awards for research and teaching, including being selected for AATS’s 2014 Leadership Academy.
