The neighborhoods surrounding Emory Healthcare locations reflect Atlanta’s personality. These communities are uniquely diverse, active, vibrant, dynamic, historic and welcoming.
Brookhaven
This classic, family-friendly community is centrally located near our Executive Park and Emory Saint Joseph’s locations. It’s filled with shopping, restaurants, great schools and established neighborhoods. Brookhaven is a short drive from the heart of Atlanta, but it also offers easy public transportation access.
Buckhead
If you’re looking for world-class shopping and a thriving social scene, consider Buckhead. Located six miles from Emory University Hospital, Buckhead is home to many of Atlanta’s upscale hotels, restaurants and shopping destinations like Lenox Square and Phipps Plaza, all complemented by a lively nightlife.
Decatur
Located just outside Atlanta’s city limits, Decatur is close to Emory Decatur Hospital, Emory Long-Term Acute Care, Emory University Hospital and Emory Rehabilitation Hospital. It’s a town that gives off small city vibes with locally owned stores and live music in the town square.
Downtown Atlanta
Downtown Atlanta is a world-class destination that blends professional sports and internationally known artists and musicians with businesses, family-owned restaurants, shopping and city parks. Located blocks from Emory University Hospital Midtown and just six miles from Emory University Hospital in Druid Hills, downtown Atlanta also offers multiple attractions, including CNN Center, the Georgia Aquarium, Olympic Park, Underground Atlanta and the World of Coca-Cola.
Druid Hills
Designed by the architect behind New York City’s Central Park and built in 1893, Druid Hills is one of Atlanta’s first suburbs. This historic residential neighborhood, with its tree-lined streets and stately, elegant homes, remains largely unchanged today. Its beauty made it the perfect setting for the Academy Award-winning film, “Driving Miss Daisy.” This idyllic community is also home to the Emory University campus, including Emory University Hospital.
Dunwoody
Like Brookhaven, Dunwoody is near Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital. Located 17 miles north of downtown Atlanta, this suburb is known for its local restaurants, nature center, fantastic shopping, great schools and established neighborhoods.
Johns Creek
Home to Emory Johns Creek Hospital, this northern suburb has one of the best public education systems in the country. It’s a diverse, walkable community with plenty of family-friendly activities and amenities like shopping centers, entertainment venues and parks.
Little Five Points
Better known as L5P, this funky, fun neighborhood is the place to be for the artistic and eclectic crowd. You can find it at the intersection of Moreland and Euclid Avenues, a short 10-minute drive from either Emory University Hospital Midtown or Emory University Hospital.
Midtown
If you want residential life but love change and variety, Midtown is for you. It’s a great community for every outdoor activity. But this trendy neighborhood is also where you can find the latest “it” restaurants and nightclubs. Beautiful Piedmont Park—site of multiple Atlanta festivals and concerts—is at the heart of this community that is also home to Emory University Hospital Midtown and Winship Cancer Institute at Emory Midtown.
Stonecrest
This community is home to Emory Hillandale Hospital. It blends suburban flair with city convenience. From shopping at New Black Wall Street Market or Stonecrest Mall to enjoying the outdoors at the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, this neighborhood provides plenty of activities for families close to downtown Atlanta.
Tucker
Outdoor events are commonplace in this community nestled 15 miles northeast of Atlanta. Tucker is home to Emory Orthopaedics & Spine Hospital and Emory Healthcare’s Northlake administration building. It’s also close to both Emory Decatur Hospital and Emory University Hospital.
Virginia Highland
Located 10 minutes from Emory University Hospital and Emory University Hospital Midtown, Virginia Highland is known for its shopping. From Highland Avenue to Virginia Avenue to the surrounding streets, you can find antique shops, boutiques, music and gifts shops, or cafes and restaurants.
West Midtown
This up-and-coming area is on the west side of Midtown. The modern industrial building facades give the area a stand-out character making this an attractive scene for many young professionals. The great views of the city, contemporary art galleries, live music and many trendy shops and boutiques make this a hot spot that is about 10 minutes from Emory University Hospital Midtown.
