What to Know Before Attending an Emory Healthcare Career Event

Career events are an excellent opportunity to meet potential employers, showcase your qualifications, and learn more about career opportunities in the healthcare field. To help you make the most of the experience, we’ve answered some common questions and provided tips to ensure you feel confident and prepared.
    • Many events require pre-registration. Check the event details to confirm if you need to register online or submit any forms beforehand.
    • Updated copies of your resume (at least 3 copies) – many events offer the opportunity to interview with multiple hiring leaders
    • A valid photo ID
    • Any documents required by the event (e.g., application forms, required proof of certifications/licenses or proof of registration)
    • A notepad and pen for taking notes
    • Professional attire is recommended:
      • For clinical roles: Scrubs or business casual attire.
      • For non-clinical roles: Business formal or smart business casual.
    • Avoid wearing jeans, sneakers, or overly casual clothing.
    • Comfortable but professional shoes are encouraged.
    • Research Emory Healthcare’s mission, values, and recent initiatives
    • Familiarize yourself with the job positions available at the event
    • Be ready to discuss your experience, skills, and how they align with the position(s)
    • Prepare questions about the culture, team dynamics, or specific roles you are interested in
    • Yes, depending on the event format. Some hiring events offer on-the-spot interviews or initial screening interviews
    • If not, expect to have pre-screening conversations and follow-up steps discussed
    • Yes! Emory Healthcare’s hiring events usually include time to network with hiring managers, recruiters, and other candidates.
    • Plan to spend at least 1-2 hours at the event to allow time for networking, interviews, and visiting different booths.
