  • The hiring process typically includes:

    • Submission of an online application
    • Initial screening by a recruiter
    • Interviews (phone, virtual or in-person)
    • Background check and pre-employment health assessment
    • For clinical roles, proof of current licensure and credentials
    • Offer and onboarding process
  • Our career postings site contains posts for all our open positions. Select a position you’re interested in. Create a profile and click “Apply Now” to submit an application. You will have the option to either upload your resumé or fill out an online form.

    You must apply online. We do not accept in-person or paper applications.

  • Yes. You can apply for up to 10 different jobs at one time through our online system. Within 30 days, you can apply for up to 25 jobs in total. We encourage you to only apply for jobs that match your qualifications and skill set.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Qualifications for our clinical positions vary by role and are clearly stated in each job posting. Many positions require a degree in a specific clinical area or several years of experience. Read each job posting carefully to make sure your qualifications match these requirements.

  • Not necessarily. Many of our non-clinical positions do list health care experience as a required or preferred qualification. However, others, such as our administrative or clerical roles, do not. Read each job posting carefully.

  • We require several professional licensures and certifications for many positions. These requirements guarantee the competency of all our caregivers. To ensure you are considered for a role, we recommend obtaining or updating these requirements before applying.

  • Yes, Emory Healthcare offers positions for new graduates, including nurse residency programs, internships and entry-level roles in various departments.

Interviews and Assessments

  • The interview process will be different depending on the type of role you are applying for. It could include a phone screening, online interview and/or an in-person interview, and could require multiple rounds of interviews with different people. If you are selected for an interview, the hiring manager or team member who schedules your interview will advise you of the process.

  • For some positions, there may be a skills assessment as part of your interview process. This will vary based on the role for which you are applying or at the hiring manager’s discretion.

  • Each of our hospitals is different. We serve different populations and offer different services. Before your interview, take the time to research the hospital where you’re applying. Learn about its mission and how it supports that vision.

    Come to your interview prepared to discuss your work history, clinical or technical skills, and ways you would handle different work scenarios.

  • After applying online, you can log into our online system to check the status of your application. Please do not email to check your application status.

Background Checks and Health Requirements

  • If you’re a new hire, we will perform a general background check before your start date. This screening includes your professional references, a criminal background check, education verification, driving record (depending on the position), Medicare/Medicaid exclusion registry check and a sexual offender registry check.

  • Yes. As part of your post-offer health assessment, you must submit and pass a urine drug test. If you do not pass or if you refuse to complete the test, we may withdraw your offer of employment.

  • We are committed to protecting our employees, patients and community. To fulfill this goal, we require all employees (even those not working with patients) to meet CDC immunization standards. These vaccines include:

    • Annual flu*
    • COVID-19*
    • Hepatitis B (for some jobs)
    • MMR
    • Tdap
    • Tuberculosis evaluation
    • Varicella

    *Limited exceptions may be made for candidates with documented medical contraindications or religious beliefs that object to vaccination.
