EUH PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice

Moji Awe, PharmD

Dr. Moji Awe is from Columbia, South Carolina, but was born in Lagos, Nigeria. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy. Her current professional interests include solid organ transplant, ambulatory care, and academia. She aspires to complete a PGY2 in one of her areas of interests, develop skills to educate pharmacy students, and complete her Master of Business Administration degree. In her free time Moji thoroughly enjoys cooking, baking, exploring new restaurants, reading, watching Love Island, and spending time with friends. If she was not a pharmacist, she would love to have become a food and travel TV/social media personality! 


Nina Casanova, PharmD

Dr. Nina Casanova is from New Orleans, LA, where she received her Doctor of Pharmacy at Xavier University of Louisiana after completing her pre-pharmacy coursework at Louisiana State University. Her primary professional interest is critical care, which she hopes to pursue a PGY2 in following the completion of her PGY1. She ultimately hopes to work as a critical care pharmacist in an academic medical center, where she can be involved in precepting learners and research. Outside of pharmacy, Nina enjoys trying new restaurants, going on outdoor walks, and spending time with her family and friends. 


Cristina Martinez, PharmD

Dr. Cristina Martinez is from Miami, FL. She earned both her Bachelor of Public Health and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Florida in Gainesville. Her professional passion lies in oncology and hematology, with aspirations to pursue a PGY2 residency in these fields after completing her PGY1. Dr. Martinez aims to become an oncology clinical specialist and contribute to clinical research. Beyond her pharmacy career, Cristina enjoys traveling with friends and family, exploring farmers' markets, and discovering new coffee shops. 


Taylor Merritt, PharmD

Dr. Taylor Merritt is from West Green, Georgia. She received her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from Mercer University College of Pharmacy in Atlanta, Georgia. Her current professional passions include Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. She aspires to complete a PGY2 in one of her areas of interest, become a board-certified clinical specialist, and assist with educating the next generation of pharmacy students. In her spare time, Taylor loves being with her husband and golden retriever, exploring new restaurants and ice cream shops, spending time with family, and playing pickleball.  


Kiara Patino, PharmD

Dr. Kiara Patino is from Alexandria, Virginia. She received her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from The College of William and Mary and her Doctor of Pharmacy from Virginia Commonwealth University. Her current professional interest is oncology, and she hopes to complete a PGY2 in oncology. After her PGY-1, Kiara hopes to complete a PGY-2 in oncology and practice as an oncology clinical specialist in a large academic institution. Outside of pharmacy, Kiara loves to try new restaurants, work out, travel, and hang out with family and friends.  


Kaanan Shah, PharmD

Dr. Kaanan Shah is from Houston, TX. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Houston and her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Pharmacy in Fort Worth, TX. Her primary professional interest is solid organ transplant, and she hopes to pursue a PGY2 in this area following the completion of her PGY1. She hopes to work as a transplant clinical pharmacist in a large academic medical center. She also hopes to be involved in academia, research, and medication education. Outside of pharmacy Kaanan loves to read, explore new places, and spend time with family and friends. 

EUH PGY-2 Critical Care

Brianna Landrum, PharmD

Dr. Brianna Landrum is from a small town in southeast Missouri called Ironton. She received both her Bachelor of Health Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees from the University of Health Sciences & Pharmacy in St. Louis (formerly known as St. Louis College of Pharmacy), and she completed her PGY-1 residency at NYU Langone Hospital – Brooklyn. Brianna’s short-term goals include obtaining her BCCCP credential and securing a position as a critical care clinical pharmacotherapy specialist at a leading academic institution. Long term, she hopes to contribute to the growing body of evidence through her research contributions and active committee engagement as her preceptors have instilled in her education and educate future generations as faculty of medicine. Outside of work, Brianna enjoys retail therapy, working out, and attending social events with friends and family.  

EUH/EUHM PGY-2 Infectious Disease

Sahand GolpayeganySahand Golpayegany

Dr. Sahand Golpayegany is from Marietta, Georgia. He completed his pre-pharmacy coursework and Doctor of Pharmacy at The University of Georgia. He completed his PGY-1 residency at Emory University Hospital. After completion of his PGY-2, Sahand plans to pursue a position on a hospital’s ID consult service as a clinical specialist and potentially also pursue a career in academia or the pharmaceutical industry. Outside of pharmacy, Sahand loves to travel, try new restaurants, breweries, and coffee shops, experiment with different methods of making coffee, and watching TV.

EUH PGY-2 Internal Medicine

Marion Javellana, PharmD

EUH Chief Resident

Dr. Marion Javellana grew up in a small town called Sleepy Hollow, New York, but has resided here in Georgia for about 8 years. She received both her Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy from Mercer University College of Pharmacy. Her current professional interests include internal medicine, transitions of care, and academia. Ultimately after completion of his PGY-2 in internal medicine, she intends to become a board-certified clinical specialist at an academic medical center, where she can develop her expertise in her area of interest while also teaching the next generation of student pharmacists.  She enjoys meal-prepping, playing pickleball, and exploring different cuisines! 

EUH PGY-2 Solid Organ Transplant

Kat Petersen, PharmD, MPH

Dr. Kat Petersen is from Dallas, TX. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy along with her Master of Public Health degree at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. She completed her PGY-1 residency at Emory University Hospital. Her current professional interests include patient counseling, drug interaction management, and transplant infectious disease. She ultimately hopes to work as a transplant clinical pharmacist in a large academic medical center and be involved in research, patient medication teaching, and precepting learners. Outside of pharmacy, Kat loves to travel, cook and explore new restaurants and bars, go on walks and bike rides, and spend quality time with her friends.

Duy Luu, PharmD

Dr. Duy Luu grew up in Lilburn, Georgia, where he received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from PCOM. His current professional interests include clinical nutrition and critical care. He aspires to become a clinical nutrition specialist, participate in medical research, and guide the next generation of pharmacists. In his free time, Duy loves traveling with his family and friends.
