Program Description
The Emory Healthcare (EHC) Administrative Internship is a 10-week, full-time program designed for highly motivated individuals who are currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate-level program and are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. The curriculum is designed to provide young leaders with a comprehensive learning experience at a premier academic health system featuring some of the nation's top-ranked hospitals.
Program participants will be exposed to hospital operations, physician division finance, and system leadership through project-based work and learning experiences. Project opportunities will vary and reflect both the participant's learning goals and the organization's needs. In addition to project work, candidates will attend leadership meetings, tour Emory Healthcare hospitals and facilities, meet key role players across the organization, and present to the Emory Healthcare Leadership Team.

Placement Process
Students are placed in various areas throughout Emory Healthcare based on student interest and department needs. Placement will be determined during the selection process. Previous placements have included:

Compensation
Compensation is pre-determined based upon the student's current level of education and the availability of funds. The current rate is $20.54/hour for undergraduate students and $25.00/hour for graduate students.
Housing is not offered as part of compensation.

Eligibility
- Current undergraduate or graduate student with a graduation date later than August 2026
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare and healthcare administration
- Current GPA above 3.5
Application Process
To be considered, qualified candidates must submit all material in one combined merged PDF. Submit the combined PDF to the ICIMS portal titled “Last Name, First Name_2026 Administrative Internship Application.”
This PDF should include the following materials:

- Undergraduate Transcript (official or unofficial)

- Personal Statement encompassing the following in a single-spaced 500–750 word essay:
- Why are you interested in the healthcare industry?
- Why are you interested in an Administrative Internship at Emory Healthcare?
- What educational or professional experiences prepared you for the administrative internship?
Incomplete submissions will not be considered.

- Implementation of Lean 5S improvement initiative for EUH Cath Lab Inventory
- Daily management system implementation for Cardiology Services
- Redesign of daily management system boards for Transplant services
- Implementation of revised system processes to streamline patient discharges
- Develop proposal to insource Occupational Injury Management for newly acquired hospitals and facilities
- Develop proof-of-concept for pharmacy-led transitions of care involvement at EUHM

The program will start in May and end in July. Firm days still to be determined.

Internship experience will be designated to match candidate’s education level. Projects will be assigned based education and experience to ensure appropriate fit and rigor of work.

Yes, accommodations can be made for schools that require a 12-week internship for course credit, however this is determined on a case by case basis.

Participating in the EHC Administrative Internship does not guarantee a part-time or full-time position within Emory Healthcare. In addition to networking opportunities and exposure to leadership within the organization during the internship, interns who have performed well are highly considered for future employment within the organization.
