Emory Healthcare's Office of Patient Relations assists patients with complaints and grievances related to the medical care or services they've received at Emory Healthcare.

For help with any of the following items, please visit the page or call the number listed.

We're Here to Help

If you have a concern with the care you are receiving, please share it with your doctor, nurse, or other member of your health care team. They will gather information and follow up with the appropriate individuals or departments. They aim to resolve any patient complaints, concerns, or grievances.

 

When to Contact the Office of Patient & Family Relations 

If you feel your concern is not resolved to your satisfaction, please contact the Office of Patient & Family Relations. This office responds to complaints about Emory Healthcare’s medical care and services.

You may submit a complaint by making a call, mailing a letter, or sending an email to patient.relations@emoryhealthcare.org.

We will provide prompt and compassionate service. We take your concerns very seriously and are dedicated to making sure you get the care you need.

To file a grievance with the Georgia Composite Medical Board, concerning the physician, staff, office and treatment received, send a written complaint to the board. Provide the physician or practice name, the address and the specific nature of the complaint. Complaints or grievances may be reported to the Board at the following address or telephone number:

For Medicare Recipients

You can also file concerns about quality of care with the Office of Medicare Ombudsman. Please call 1-800-MEDICARE.

If you think you are being discharged too soon, you can talk to the hospital staff and your doctor about your concerns. You also have the right to appeal. If you want to appeal, you must contact the Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) before you leave the hospital by calling 1-800-982-0411 then pressing 3.
