E-Visit: Care on Your Schedule

Need quick help for a common health issue? Try an E-Visit.

Emory Healthcare now offers E-Visits for certain non-urgent conditions—providing an easy way to get care through your secure MyChart patient portal.

What is an E-Visit?

A simple way to get care for common health issues — no appointment or video needed.

E-Visits let current Emory patients get care online with messages in MyChart. No need for in-person or video visits. You will answer a guided set of questions, and an Emory provider will review your answers and send you a personal care plan within 1 business day (Mon–Fri, 8 am–3 pm).

E-Visits are billable. Please see additional cost information below.

Conditions currently treated via E-Visit at Emory Healthcare:

  • Conjunctivitis, also known as Pink Eye
  • Hypertension
  • Upper Respiratory Infection (COVID, cold, flu)
  • Urinary Tract Infection
  • Travel Well Clinic
  • Vaginitis

E-Visits are not for Emergencies

If you are experiencing any of the following, do not use an E-Visit: E-Visits are only appropriate for non-emergency concerns. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, please call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room.

  • Allergic reactions
  • Any symptoms that feel urgent or life-threatening
  • Chest pain
  • Dizziness or confusion
  • Heavy bleeding
  • High fever
  • Shortness of breath
Frequently Asked Questions
  • If you send a message to your provider in MyChart and the provider thinks an E-Visit is right for you, you'll get a message in MyChart. This may happen when the question takes more than 5 minutes of the provider’s time to answer or requires medical decision-making.

Consent and Billing: You'll need to agree to the E-Visit and the billing. If you prefer, you can choose an in-person or video visit instead.

Changing Your Mind: If you decide not to do the E-Visit after agreeing, you can cancel it in MyChart before sending your answers. After that, you'll need to call the clinic to cancel.

Answer Questions: Once you agree, you'll answer questions about your symptoms. Your answers go to your doctor.

Doctor's Response: Your provider will check your answers and medical records. They will send you a care plan within one business day (Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm). If it's a Friday, weekend, or holiday, you'll hear back by the next business day. If you need an in-person or video visit instead, you won't be charged for the E-Visit.

After-Visit Summary: You'll find a summary of your E-Visit in the "Visits" section of MyChart.

Billing: Any charges will show up in the "Billing Summary" section in MyChart, labeled as "Online Digital E/M Svc."
