Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular Rehabilitation is a specialized form of physical therapy that focuses on dizziness, vertigo, and imbalance. The goal of therapy is to improve the individual’s sensitivity to movement and improve postural stability and sense of equilibrium. Your therapist will design a plan of care with emphasis on balance retraining and movements that decrease dizziness, vertigo and imbalance caused by inner ear or central balance pathway disorders.

Consultation with neurologist or physical therapist to determine rehabilitation potential and plan of care for complaints of dizziness and unsteadiness with a probable vestibular etiology. Examinations and assessment to establish baseline function and facilitate the development of an individualized rehabilitation program designed to improve and ease symptoms. The overall goal of the program is to assist the individual in improving their overall quality of life by restoring function and facilitating the resumption of desired and typical day-to-day activities.
